12th Assembly District Candidates Win Union Endorsements

The New York State AFL-CIO has endorsed Michael Marcantonio in his run for the 12th Assembly District, while Republican candidate Keith Brown was endorsed by the Suffolk County Association of Municipal Employees.

“I am deeply grateful to receive AME’s endorsement and their faith in my candidacy,” Brown said. “With our state and nation struggling with a pandemic, now, more than ever, we must ensure that our workforce and municipal employees are well represented and fairly protected—this should be a priority for all legislators everywhere. I am resolved to ensure that all workers in the 12th district receive the best representation possible, both in Albany and here at home.”

“I’m honored to have received the endorsement of the AFL-CIO and therefore the Long Island Federation of Labor, one of the most sought after union endorsements. They endorsed this campaign because they know we are the strongest voice in defense of the working men and women on Long Island,”  Marcantonio said.

He was also endorsed by NYSUT, Laborers International, UFCW 1500, CWA and 1199-SEIU.
