2 Art Tours Coming Up in Huntington Village

You can walk or you can crawl, but whatever your method of locomotion, there’s are easy ways coming up to sample the arts in downtown Huntington.

On May 21, participants can take a self-guided tour of exhibits at the museums and galleries downtown.

Several of the artists wil be available to discuss their work along the tour route.  The tour is free; live music will be available on the route. Participants can pick up a copy of a flyer and a map at a table set up at the Paramount. The tour runs from noon to 5 p.m.

Two weeks later, on June 3, the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the Huntington Village Public Art Crawl, also free, and including live mural painting, live music, an art fair and the launch of a summer music series, Summer in the Streets. Its focus is on public-facing, outdoor art. The guided tour starts at 1PM on Wall Street. Registration is required for free tickets to the event, which runs from noon to 7 p.m. The tour will be followed by a pub crawl at 4:30 PM with guests receiving drink specials at restaurants that emphasize art throughout town.

If you’d prefer to check out the upcoming talent, the Heckscher Museum is hosting Long Island’s Best: Young Artists at the Heckscher Museum now through June 4.
