2 Libraries Get Funding for Infrastructure

Assemblyman Steve Stern, D-Dix Hills, has announced that two libraries will receive funding for infrastructure projects.

The Cold Spring Harbor Public Library has been awarded $94,925 in state aid to create a new space for teenagers.  “Our new Teen/Media Center will be a 700 square foot room that is inviting, comfortable and professionally designed for teens,” CSHPL Director Dr. Roger Podell said.  “Teens will use the room to study, socialize, work in collaborative groups, enjoy games and entertainment, and participate in library programs.”

He said that adults can use the space during the school day.  “I would like to express my appreciation to Assemblyman Stern for securing this vital construction aid.”

The Half Hollow Hills Community Library has been granted $104,400 for infrastructure.

“Our new 21st Century library will serve the vast needs of residents of Half Hollow Hills,” said HHHCL Director Helen Crosson. “The generosity from Assemblyman Stern will have a tremendous impact on the construction of the Half Hollow Hills Community Library for generations to come.”

“I am proud to announce this important funding for our local libraries,” Stern said.  “They are truly the heart of our communities.”
