2 Men Accused of Selling Counterfeit Goods

Two Queens men were arrested Wednesday and charged with selling counterfeit goods, Suffolk County police said.

Investigators arrested them during a transaction in the parking lot of the Long Island Welcome Center, l5100 Long Island Expressway in Dix Hills.

Investigators seized counterfeit items from a vehicle including watches, perfume, sunglasses, handbags, wallets, scarves, gloves and backpacks bearing the fraudulent names of Coach, Burberry, Armani, Rolex, Chanel, Versace, Ugg, Gucci and Louis Vuitton.

They were  both charged with Trademark Counterfeiting 1st Degree. They are scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip Thursday.

Financial Crimes Unit detectives, with the assistance of The Allegiance Protection Group and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office Financial Investigations and Money Laundering Bureau, launched the investigation. Undercover investigators paid approximately $4,000 for items purported to be designer products. The retail value of these items, if authentic, totaled more than $100,000.
