2 Spray Park Workers Test Positive for Covid-19

Two Town of Huntington workers at the spray park in Elwood tested positve for Covid-19, the town said Tuesday.

They last worked at the Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo Memorial Spray Park in Elwood Park on Saturday. They tested positive Tuesday. all unvaccinated employees who worked the same shift last Saturday are under a 10-day quarantine.

The spray park is open, the town said.
The town also noted that water from the spray pad is not recycled but used for irrigation of the grounds at Elwood Park after it runs through the spray apparatus.
Last week, Town spokeswoman Lauren Lembo said the possibility of requiring vaccinations is under consideration but it hasn’t yet been decided. Meantime, masks are required at masks to enter Town Hall, the Ice Rink, the Flanagan Center (Senior Center, Adult Day Care  and Youth Bureau, and Senior Beach House.
And Council members Joan Cergol, Ed Smyth, Mark Cuthbertson and Gene Cook all confirmed that they had been fully vaccinated. Town Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci did not respond to a question about whether he had been vaccinated.
