2 to Co-Chair Huntington Hospital Fundraising Campaign

Castello Banfi family proprietor Ginny Mariani-Kitt and Kean Development Company CEO John C. Kean will co-chair the Outpacing the Impossible fundraising campaign for Huntington Hospital.

Northwell Health  launched its seven-year, $1-billion system-wide campaign in October, which supports capital projects, improves hospitals and clinical programs, advances research, and funds endowments for teaching and research initiatives. Huntington Hospital’s campaign will focus on growing the hospital’s cancer services and its orthopedics department, among other areas.

A Lloyd Harbor resident, Mariani-Kitt is a member of the third generation of family ownership of Castello Banfi, a Tuscan vineyard estate, following her late father Harry F. Mariani. She is the newest member of Huntington Hospital’s board of trustees.

“As someone who grew up and raised my family in the Huntington area, it gives me great joy to co-chair this fundraising campaign and help Huntington Hospital continue to provide top-notch medical care to its community members,” she said. “Every dollar raised through Huntington Hospital benefits the hospital and its programs.”

Kean, a member of Huntington Hospital’s board of trustees for a decade and the Huntington Hospital Golf Classic honoree in 2007 and 2014, as well as the event’s chair since 2015, echoed those sentiments. “We are very fortunate to have a comprehensive medical center in our backyard and that is not something that should be taken for granted,” he said. “The hospital, which has served our community for more than 100 years, needs our help to maintain its high-quality programs and services.”

Kean Development is a design/development company that offers residential and commercial architectural design and construction. The multi-tiered company has offices in Cold Spring Harbor, the Hamptons and Palm Beach, Fla.

“We greatly appreciate Ginny and John’s willingness to lead our fundraising efforts with the Outpacing the Impossible campaign,” said Keith Friedlander, chair of Huntington Hospital’s board of trustees. “We also appreciate our donors’ generosity to date as well as the generosity of new benefactors we will reach with this campaign. We are proud that U.S. News & World Report has named Huntington Hospital the number one rated community hospital in New York and we remain committed to being the hospital of choice for all Long Islanders.”
