Scout troops and Huntington High School students planted saplings Friday at Koster Park, part of the Huntington celebration of National Arbor Day.

The town said that 200 bare root saplings were planted, consisting of 25 each of Flowering Dogwood, Highbush Cranberry, Buttonbush, Ninebark, Black Chokeberry, Virginia Rose, Witch Hazel, and Winterberry.

Huntington Supervisor Ed Smyth and receiver of taxes Jillian Guthman spoke to the dozens of Scouts and others who gathered to add their muscle to the effort.
