2nd Update: Juvenile Arrested in Killing of Man in Huntington Station

Suffolk County Police said that they arrested a juvenile Thursday in the fatal shooting of  Luis Cameran Rimmer-Hernandez. The juvenile will be held overnight at a secure juvenile facility and arraigned at the Youth Part of County Court on Friday.

A Dix Hills man was shot to death Monday night in Huntington Station, Suffolk County police said.

Luis Cameron Rimmer-Hernandez, 21, was identified Tuesday afternoon as the victim.

Second Precinct police said they responded to 56 Lowndes Ave. after a 911 caller reported hearing gunshots in the street at 10:49 p.m. When police arrived, they found a man lying in the street with a gunshot wound.

The victim, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Huntington Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
