3 Local Students Win Scholarships to Alvernia

The following students have earned Merit Scholarships to attend Alvernia University:

Kristine Fusaro of Dix Hills ) a student at Half Hollow Hills High School West, has been granted the Trustees’ Scholarship to study Occupational Therapy at Alvernia in the fall.

Katherine O’Hagan of Dix Hills a student at Half Hollow Hills High School West, has been granted the Presidential Scholarship to study Occupational Therapy at Alvernia in the fall.

Maria Paradiso of Huntington, a student at Kellenberg Memorial High School, has been granted the Trustees’ Scholarship to study Early Childhood Education (PreK-4) at Alvernia in the fall.

Applicants for Alvernia’s $18,000 Presidential Scholarship must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and minimum SAT score of 1130 on the old test/1200 on the new one (or 25 ACT). The university’s $17,000 Trustees Scholarship requires a minimum GPA of 3.2 and minimum SAT score of 1050 SAT old/1130 new (or 23 ACT), and the $16,000 Veronica Founder’s Scholarship requires applicants to have minimum GPA of 3.0 and minimum SAT score of 980 old/1060 new (21 ACT).
