Four Huntington restaurants will be hosting viewing parties as the World Cup gets underway on Sunday.
The international soccer tournament, which is being played in Qatar, runs through Dec. 18.
The four restaurants are Finley’s of Green Street, The Last Word, Vinoteka 46 and Mission Taco.
Viewing the games will be free; the restaurants will display flags and backdrops for people to take pictures. Every restaurant will offer hapy hours will food and drinks.
“This is our way of bringing soccer fans together on Long Island during the World Cup,” said Jose Tutiven, the executive director of Colored Colors, who is leading the project. “But everyone’s invited, even if your country is not in the World Cup.”
The Huntington World Cup Tour will involve 10 matches: Ecuador vs. Qatar, England vs. the United States, Poland vs. Argentina, Spain vs. Germany, Iran vs. the US, Wales vs. the US, France vs. Denmark, Croatia vs Canada, Argentina vs Mexico and Cameroon vs. Brazil.
Those wishing to participate should pick a date and register so that the tour can provide updates.
