4 Local Districts Celebrate Homecoming This Weekend

Updated to add Half Hollow Hills information.

It’s homecoming week for several area school districts, a time when students and alumni celebrate school spirit and gather to make new memories.

In Huntington, celebrations kick off with the Homecoming Dance, which starts at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at the high school.

A pep rally at the high school Friday afternoon is followed by Float Night starting at 6 p.m. The homecoming parade on Saturday starts downtown at the post office and winds its way to the high school, followed by the homecoming football game where the Blue Devils play against the Smithtown East Bulls at 1:30 p.m.

Cold Spring Harbor’s homecoming festivities run during Jr./Sr. High Homecoming Spirit Week. Events end with the Homecoming football game starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, where the Seahawks play the West Hempstead Rams.

In the South Huntington district, homecoming festivities kick off at 4:30 p.m. Friday with the homecoming festival. Events continue Saturday starting at 9 a.m. with the Hall of Fame Breakfast and Induction Ceremony, followed by the Homecoming Parade at 11:30am and the Homecoming Game at 2 p.m., where the Wildcats play the Central Islip Musketeers.

Half Hollow Hills West is hosting Islip at 1 p.m. Saturday, preceded by a homecoming parade at 11 a.m., and a pep rally Friday at 6:30 p.m.
