Hundreds of children received gifts Saturday as volunteers handed them out packages at Assembly of God in Huntington Station.
Helping Hand Rescue Mission organized the donations, delivering gifts to more than 700 families who had registered in advance.
Santa Claus helped welcome the children who shared high-fives, shyly posed with photos with him or watched from the backseats of cars as volunteers delivered the goods.
The Rev. Kim Gambino of Helping Hand said that more than 100 volunteers had helped organize and wrap the gifts earlier this week, for recipients ranging in age from infants to age 13.
