A Celebration of Black History and Achievement

Huntington residents celebrated Black History Month with music, theater and the recognition of achievements. 

Performances included the Negro National Anthem sung by L.W. Smith Youth Ensemble from the Faith Missionary Baptist Church of Huntington, Voices of Huntington directed by Gary Stewart,  “Martin, Malcolm and Me” adopted from the film written and directed by JD Lawrence, and speeches by several town officials. Retired NY Jets players Emerson Boozer and Bobby Jackson were presented awards at the ceremony at Jack Abrams STEM school in Huntington Station.
