A Moment of ‘Healing 4 Our Heroes’ for Hospital Staff

Members of Huntington Hospital’s medical staff  took a brief break Friday to acknowledge the pressures on the front line of the coronavirus epidemic. The “Healing 4 Our Heroes” event at the hospital was marked by a chance to pause and recognize the deep emotions brought about by their work  to defeat the epidemic.

Dr. Michael Grosso, the hospital’s medical director, played piano for the staff before they gathered at the hospital’s main entrance. He said the hospital wanted to recognize their efforts made as as cases of infection poured into the hospital. During the event, participants were encouraged to take deep breaths and express their feelings. One staffer called out “optimistic,” while others used such words as “grateful,” and “proud” to be part of the hospital staff.
