Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts

Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts fosters creativity, independence, and intellect through art making, fun, and lots of fresh air. Our day camp program offers students in kindergarten through 12th grade an opportunity to immerse themselves in the arts with instruction by professional artists and experienced educators in visual art, chess, creative writing, dance, music, nature and sustainability, and theater. Each camp day is enriched by recreational activities including swimming, archery, yoga, gaga, basketball, and more.

This summer, campers can recharge on our forested Long Island campus surrounded by friends who share their enthusiasm for the arts.

Enrollment is now open for 4- and 8-week sessions running from June 28 through August 20, 2021. Transportation is offered from NYC and Nassau and Suffolk counties.

Camp Bright Star

The Town of Huntington offers Camp Bright Star, a summer camp for children and teens with special needs, ages 6 and older. Campers can be kids in a safe, caring and structured environment. The  town has offered this program for over 35 years;  it  is partially funded by the New York State Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD).

Camper disabilities range from speech impaired to learning disabled and developmentally disabled. Campers are divided into five age-appropriate groups. Applicants must be able to function in a group environment without one-to-one assistance. Exceptions are made if the child’s school or family provides a shadow to assist the child. The school or family in these situations must complete a waiver.
