Sponsored by American Legion Post 1244, the ceremony included the laying of wreaths, a reminder of the distinction between Memorial Day and Veterans Day, a musical performance by students from Harborfields High School and the playing of Taps.
Following the tradition of marking the end of World War I hostilities on Nov.11, 1918, the ceremony began at 11 a.m.
