Amtrak Work at Penn to Alter LIRR Service Starting Jan. 7

Amtrak work at Penn Station will affect rush-hour trains on the Long Island Rail Road starting Jan 7.

East Side Access work west of Woodside will also impact service, but only through Feb. 1.

Some peak trains will be canceled/combined or diverted and other trains will depart earlier than usual.

The LIRR offers the following suggestions:
-Riding at the start or end of peak hours;
-Avoid Penn by traveling to/from Atlantic Terminal, Hunterspoint or LI City.
-If traveling for leisure, avoid rush hour
