Arts: Horror Movie Marathon, Summer Festival

What: Huntington Summer Arts Festival, Skerryvore
Where: Chapin Rainbow Stage, Heckscher Park, Huntington

About: The Huntington Summer Arts Festival brings a roster of exciting performing artists to the Chapin Rainbow Stage in Heckscher Park each year. Artists and ensembles include award winning, world-class talent in music, dance and theatre from around the globe, as well as the finest performing arts groups from Huntington and Long Island.

Where: Cinema Arts Centre, Huntington
When: Saturday, 8/11 at 9:30pm
About: Retro Picture Show presents Up All Night: The 2018 “Pay to Get Out” Horror Movie Marathon. Prepare for 13 hours of horror and exploitation madness. 8 features – all projected from vintage 35mm film prints. Showcasing 5 rarely-screened titles from New World Pictures’ legendary horror library.

What: Long Island Biennial 2018 Opening Reception
Where: The Heckscher Museum of Art, Huntington
When: Saturday, 8/11 5:30pm-7:30pm
About: A juried exhibition featuring work by visual artists of Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Members and special guests are invited to celebrate the opening.

What: Happenings On Main Street, Caroline Doctorow and Cathy Kreger
Where: Main Street, Northport Village
When: Friday, 8/10 at 7pm
About: Singer songwriters perform at the patio in the village park, Northport, every Friday from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Bring your own lawn chairs or blankets, weather permitting. Fun for the whole family.
