What: She Kills Monsters

Where: Vanderbilt Museum’s Carriage House Theater/Education Center

When: Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 19, 20, 26, and 27, 8:00 pm; Sundays, Oct. 21 and 28, 3:00 pm

About: A Dungeon-&-Dragons-themed play. The Chicago Tribune has called playwright Qui Nguyen “a refreshing, break-the-rules writer,” while the New York Times named SKM’s 2011 Off Off Broadway production a “Critic’s Pick.”

Cost: $20 adults; $15 seniors and children

 

What: Disgraced

Where: Five Towns College’s Studio Theatre

About: Oscar-winning FTC professor Milton Justice will direct live performances of Pulitzer Prize winner Ayad Akhtar’s drama.

What: Huntington Village Art Walk

Where: Huntington Village

When: Sunday, Oct. 21, 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm

About: Self-guided, and within a mile. Points of interest include b.j. spoke gallery, Huntington Art Center, and The Moon Rose Art Stamps (pictured).

What: Native Turf: Reception and Artist Talk

Where: Walt Whitman Birthplace

When: Wednesday, Oct. 24, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

About: Meet Katherine Kaiser, an MFA candidate at Stony Brook University. Her works will grace the walls till October 28th.
