What: Summer Astronomy Series: The Search for Life – Part 2
Where: Vanderbilt Museum
When: Sunday, August 18th, 5-6pm
About: In this 4-part double series guests will learn about the search for life in the universe, black holes, and the exploration of Mars. These live lectures will take place in the William & Mollie Rogers Theater, with two Vanderbilt astronomy educators, Charlie Eder and Matt Garber, using the full-dome and Planetarium technology to its fullest potential.

What: Horror Vacui: Fear of the Empty

About: In visual art, horror vacui (from Latin “fear of empty space”), also kenophobia (from Greek “fear of the empty”), is the filling of the entire surface of a space or an artwork with detail. Horror vacui uses high levels of detail to contrast with the sublime unknown. Exhibition was juried by Erica Berkowitz of Northport’s Haven Gallery.
