Atlantique opened its showroom of live-edge furniture and other distinctive wooden furniture designs Saturday in West Hills.
Owner Nancy Krass has run Atlantique for years, specializing in restoration of antique furniture. Her new shop, at 741a West Jericho Turnpike, features newly created works, ranging from cabinets, bamboo wind chimes, tables, plates and more. The pieces include custom made furniture, such as benches.
Every piece is distinct. “After 40 years, we just wanted to do this,” she said. “It has a good vibe. We are creating, not just restoring,” she said. As restorers, she said, “we bring people’s furniture back to life.”
Atlantique also offers such services as French polishing, furniture refinishing and antique restoration.
The store, well lit with large display windows, is behind Umberto’s Pizzeria, fronting onto Cold Spring Hills Road.
Atlantique Furniture Restoration has restored and assisted in the recaning of several antique furniture pieces for me. The results were beautiful and exactly to my specifications! Nancy was a pleasure to work with and very helpful throughout the process! I will definitely use them again for future projects!
