Bacteria Closes Valley Grove Beach in Eaton’s Neck

Valley Grove Beach in Eaton’s Neck is closed to bathing because  high levels of bacteria have been found.

Suffolk County Commissioner of Health Dr. Gregson Pigott said that swimming  in bacteria-contaminated water can result in gastrointestinal illness, as well as infections of the eyes, ears, nose, and throat.

The beach will reopen when the bacteria level has subsided.
