Personal care services such as barbershops nail and hair salons and tattoo parlors will have to close by 8 p.m. Saturday in another attempt to stem the coronavirus epidemic.
The order applies in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut as the four states continue their efforts to work on a regional level.
Piercing parlors and hair removal services are included in the order.
The order is the latest attempt to enforce social distancing, keeping people at home or at least out of public spaces as the virus continues to spread. Earlier this week, public spaces in facilities such as malls were ordered closed, and bars and restaurants were ordered to severely limit their services.
