Legislator Susan A. Berland (D-Dix Hills), chairwoman of the Legislature’s Veterans Committee attended a ceremony hosted by the Korean War Veterans Central Long Island Chapter and the Suffolk County Veterans Service Agency, honoring the 68th anniversary of the beginning of the Korean War.
In attendance was County Executive Steve Bellone, the Honorable Ambassador Hyo-Sung Park, Consulate General of the Republic of Korea and the Honorable Ertan Yalcin, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey. “I was honored to participate in the ceremony recognizing the 68th anniversary of the beginning of the Korean War and those who served in Korea,” said Legislator Berland. “I am grateful to our friends from The Republic of Korea and The Republic of Turkey for joining us in the recognition of those who served and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.”
