Birchwood Student Murals Dedicated at LIRR Overpass

Elected officials, South Huntington school representatives, students and parents cut the ribbon Saturday on murals adorning the walls under the LIRR underpass on Route 110.

The murals, reflecting life around Huntington, have been taking shape for months, bringing color to a previously drab space.

Among the participants at the ribbon cutting were Town Supervisor Chad Lupinacci, a former member of the South Huntington school board; Town Attorney Nick Ciappetta, president of the South Huntington board, school board trustee Sidney B. Joyner,  Town Councilwoman Joan Cergol, Receiver of Taxes Jillian Guthman, Birchwood principal Anthony Ciccarelli, and South Huntington school superintendent Dr. David P. Bennardo.
