Boater Rescued Near Eaton’s Neck

Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau officers assisted a boater stranded in the Long Island Sound just east of Eaton’s Neck at about 2:10 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Brian Curly was operating a 22-foot Striper bow rider about 200 yards off shore when he believed his boat struck something in the water and became disabled.

Curly, who was with his 6 and 8-year-old daughters, called 911 and requested assistance.

Marine Bravo, with officers Paul Carnival and Keith Walters, responded to the stranded boat.  After assessing the situation, the officers towed the boat to Soundview Boat Ramp in Northport.

Curly, 48, of Fort Salonga, and his two daughters were unharmed.
