A Few Words With…Ken-Patrick Johnson

We asked Huntington resident Ken Johnson about what he’s reading.
I am indeed a regular reader…on a daily basis. Proudly addicted actually!! LoL…I have an inherent thirst to seek knowledge as much as possible.
I love reading the Business, Mystery/Thriller, Suspense, and anything Law Enforcement/Crime Fighting genres of literature. My preferred medium of reading is PRINT, with an engaging BOOK.  I swear there is nothing like getting comfortable on the couch with a blazing hot cup of coffee while losing yourself in the paragraphs and pages.
I primarily read the N.Y. TIMES & Wall Street Journal newspapers to keep myself abreast on all social, national, and financial affairs affecting our society on a whole. For my specific professional development, I regularly read ENTREPRENEUR magazine and multiple publications by Dave Ramsey.
My favorite literary author is James Patterson.
I was constantly excited to read as a kid. I fully credit my mother for sparking that interest from a very early age. She would sit with me around the dining room table and coach/assist me on reading encyclopedia passages. I believe that undoubtedly led me to later on thoroughly enjoy “THE HARDY BOYS” mystery series as a young kid. I would breeze through it.
My name is Ken-Patrick Johnson. I am a self-employed millennial who is deeply passionate about the intentional uplifting and progression of my community. I believe that reading is absolutely fundamental to sharpening one’s intellectual capability and prowess.
Library Budgets Pass
Huntington and South Huntington library budgets were approved by voters last week.
In South Huntington, the budget passed, 294-36. Trustee Eileen Sullivan was re-elected to a five-year term. Children voted too. Their favorite dessert to make at home is the ice cream sundae, which won by a landslide. Other favorites were cake, brownies, cookies and pie.  In Huntington, the budget passed 195 -29, and Ann Scolnick was re-elected as trustee.
