Building Dedicated in Name of Dix Hills Activist Sheila Saks

Public officials, family and friends gathered Sunday for the dedication of the Sheila Saks Administrative Offices of the Dix Hills Water Authority.

Supervisor Lupinacci, Councilman Eugene Cook and Councilwoman Joan Cergol spoke of  Saks’ devotion to the community, with Lupinacci announcing that the House Beautiful Dix Hills Civic Association, of which Ms. Saks was a founding member and past president, would be donating a plaque to hang inside the newly renamed offices.

She also was a member of the Town of Huntington Citizen Committee and worked on the construction of the water district’s building in 191.

She died in July 2018 at the age of 75.
