Candidate Introductions; Campaign Managers Named

Former Town Clerk Jo-Ann Raia is hosting the campaign kickoff of Stephanie Bontempi Thursday, headlined by former US Rep. Peter King, R-Massapequa.

Bontempi is running against the Suffolk County 18th District seat currently held by Dr. William Spencer, against Town Councilman Mark Cuthbertson, a Democrat.

Other guests at the kickoff include Suffolk County Comptroller John Kennedy, his wife, Suffolk County Legislator Leslie Kennedy and Town Clerk Andrew Raia. 

The event kicks off at 6 p.m. at The Head of the Bay Club; RSVP.

Candidate Introduction

Republican and Conservative hopeful Kevin Surdi will be introducing himself Wednesday as a candidate against US Rep. Tom Suozzi, D-Huntington in next years race. He is hosting a meet the candidate night at Six Harbors Brewery. RSVP.

Cinco de Mayo Kickoff

Republican Suffolk County Legislature candidate Manuel Esteban plans a Cinco de Mayo  campaign kickoff garden party on May 5.

He is running for the 16th District seat held by  Democratic majority leader Susan Berland. 

Among Esteban guests at the kickoff at his home are Assemblyman Keith Brown and Town Councilman Ed Smyth, candidate for town supervisor. Email to RSVP.

He and his wife, Mercedes, have six children and live in East Northport.

Rebecca Sanin, a Democrat running for town supervisor, picked John Marafino.

Republican town supervisor candidate Ed Smyth has named Dana Beard.

Dr. David Bennardo, Republican running for Town Board, has appointed Laura Carey.

Sheriff Fundraiser

Sheriff Errol Toulon has scheduled a virtual fundraiser for Monday from 6-8 p.m.  Email.
