Car Show to Benefit Veterans in Need

A car show hosted by the American Legion Greenlawn Post 1244 and the Centurion Cruisers Car club will benefit a veterans program.

The Nov. 13 show, booked for Walt Whitman High School, will run from 9 am. to 2 p.m.

It will benefit Operation Enduring Care, a program of the Greenlawn post to supply veterans living in the Northport VA Medical Center homeless shelter with such basic items as personal hygiene and comfort items, gently used clothing, packaged new underwear, socks and non-perishable meals.

At the car show, the Greenlawn post will award about 20 veteran’s choice trophies and one each principal and superintendent choice awards by the South Huntington School District.   Food trucks and a DJ with music will be on hand.
