Carnival Fun Opens Whitman Homecoming Weekend

Walt Whitman High School got its homecoming weekend underway Friday with a carnival for district families and members of the South Huntington community. Performers from Zabo’s Circus, the opportunity to soak an adult by pouring water over their heads and a petting zoo were among the popular attractions at the carnival on the Whitman school grounds.

Other carnival goers tried their hand at the hammer game,a bean bag toss, sticky soccer, matching the flags and country names of countries, or sampled a variety of other activities and goodies.

Saturday, the South Huntington students will take to the streets for a parade before the Wildcats take on Patchogue-Medford in a football game at 7 p.m.
