Census Help Available at Libraries

The US Census deadline was extended Friday morning until Oct. 31.

Census results affect aid to schools, highways, congressional districts and much more.

At least two libraries are hosting events next week to help people learn more and to fill out their Census forms.

The Huntington Public Library Station Branch is having a Census Awareness Day on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Northport-East Northport branch in East Northport will host Census Awareness Day Wednesday, also 10 a.m.-2 pm.

More details about the Census and its importance to residents and local communities is here.

The Census  is legally mandated by the US Constitution. It takes place every 10 years.
