Cergol, Bennardo Seek Volunteers to Serve as Judges for Hunting-Tony Awards

Town of Huntington Council members Joan Cergol and Dr. Dave Bennardo are seeking volunteers to judge the upcoming slate of high school plays and musicals eligible for the 13th Annual Hunting-Tony Awards.

The Hunting-Tony Awards, colloquially known as the “Hunting-Tonys,” were created in 2011 to honor the dramatic and musical theater productions performed by students at the nine public high schools in the Town of Huntington.

Volunteer judges attend productions and evaluate them in a variety of  performance, technical, and design categories. Student judges are eligible for three hours of community service credit per show.

The 2022-23 Hunting-Tonys season consists of seven dramatic plays and nine musicals. The dramatic plays will run from Friday, Oct. 28 through Thursday, Dec. 1, and the nine musicals from Friday, Feb. 3 through Saturday, March 25.

Anyone interested in becoming a judge can email [email protected] or call (631) 351- 3018 for more information.
