The Dragon Gate restaurant in Huntington Station has closed and another restaurant is moving in, according to a sign hanging from the front of the restaurant.
It is the second Huntington restaurant to close its doors this week. Outback Steakhouse in Huntington closed down Sunday night after 20 years.
Its voicemail continues to say Dragon Gate, which a message about its hours of operation. And it is still listed on various food delivery sites, such as Grubhub.com
The new restaurant, Mamajuana Cafe, is part of a chain of Dominican-themed restaurants based in New Jersey, New York City and western Nassau County. The sign on the Dragon Gate lists a website of mamajuana-huntington.com but the website is empty.
Dragon Gate, which served a Chinese and Japanese menu, was a fixture of the Huntington restaurant scene, operating for more than 20 years at 555 E. Jericho Tpke., Huntington Station.
