Cinema Arts to Offer Sensory Friendly Film

The Cinema Arts Centre will show The Great Muppet Caper Saturday in an atmosphere that welcomes those who have autism and need  safe and accepting surroundings.

Lights will be turned up and sound turned down in an effort to make the theater comfortable for everyone. Those with autism and their families are welcome to attend the showing and meet with each other.

The theater said, “Our reception area will be open throughout the screening in case anyone needs to step out into a relaxing environment and have a healthy snack.  The reception will also be open after the screening, for food, refreshments, and a chance for folks to meet each other.”

A sensory friendly environment helps those with autism to avoid a stimulus overload.

The movie, made in 1981, is the second live-action Muppets film. It plays at 11 a.m. Saturday.  Members $7, Public $12, | $5 Children. 12 and under (Includes reception)

The showing is sponsored by bee-organic.
