Cinema Arts to Show Doc on Cold Spring Harbor Lab Researcher

Cinema Arts will present a documentary Jan. 6 on Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory cancer researcher Jim Allison.

Allison is a Nobel Laureate for his work in discovering the immune system’s role in treating cancer. 

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory President and CEO, Dr. Bruce Stillman, will present and discuss the documentary film, “Jim Allison: Breakthrough” at the Cinema Arts Centre for their Science on Screen film series.

Dr. Bruce Stillman, president and CEO of the lab, will lead the discussion about the documentary. He is a biochemist and cancer researcher who has served as the director of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory since 1994 and president since 2003. He also served as the director of its NCI-designated Cancer Center for 25 years from 1992 to 2016. In 2019 he was awarded the prestigious Canada Gairdner International Award.

The documentary will show at 7:30 p.m.
