Classic Car Drivers Join Salute to Hospital Workers

Motorcycles and dozens of classic cars formed a caravan Thursday night to honor Huntington Hospital workers and to power a food drive benefiting Long Island Cares.

Escorted by a Suffolk County police officer, motorcyclists displaying American flags led the way, followed by a variety of older cars of different eras, looping around in front of the hospital.

The hospital said that people in the community have been gathering every night to celebrate the work of medical staffers as they leave the hospital.

About 1,000 pounds of food and $680 were collected for donation to Long Island Cares.
