Clubhouse Steak Restaurant Plans to Reopen

The Clubhouse steak restaurant is working on reopening next week, having resolved its tax problems with New York State.

A state tax notice was posted  Sept.11 on the doors of the restaurant at 320 W. Jericho Turnpike, Huntington, closing the restaurant.

Founded in 1962 by John and Geraldine Bies, the restaurant is managed by their son, Jeffrey and his wife, Casey.

“We’re on a mission to get this place rocking and rolling,” Casey Bies said. She said the restaurant needs to hire more staff for its soft opening, with the goal of opening by midweek.

The state tax department said the restaurant had owed $168,481.02, Newsday reported.

The restaurant has won numerous awards for fine dining, and bills itself as ‘the place for steak.”
