About 300 residents came out to East Northport Saturday to voluntarily have people throw clouds of powder of various pastels on them as they ran around a field of grass at the Fifth Avenue Elementary School.
Plus, there was basketball, music, photo booths, dancing and Hula-Hoops.
It was all in good fun, the launch of Recovery, Awareness and Prevention Week sponsored by the Drug and Alcohol Community Task Force of Northport-East Northport.
Participants, who ranged in age from seniors to toddlers, wore smiles as they finished the run covered in blue, pink or yellow powder; a few, mostly those already covered from head to toe, dodged volunteers throwing the powder, and a couple even jokingly fought back, tossing their own supply of powder back at the volunteers.
