Coltrane Day Highlights Musician’s Legacy

Coltrane Day is underway at Heckscher Park and vicinity Saturday afternoon, with jam sessions, jazz, rap, funk electronic music and food. It is scheduled to continue until 10:30 p.m.

The legendary blues musician John Coltrane and his wife, jazz pianist Alice Coltrane, lived in Dix Hills until his death in 1967. He is considered one of the most influential saxophonists in music history.

The event is sponsored by the Coltrane Home, the Huntington Arts Council and the Town of Huntington.
