Commack District Employee Arrested on Drug, Gun Charges

A Commack school district employee was arrested Wednesday on multiple gun and drug charges after a search of his home in Patchogue.

Patrick Musumeci, 30, was charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, six counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, two counts of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4th Degree, five counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, four counts of Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, and Grand Larceny 4th Degree.

Suffolk County police said the search by Fifth Squad Special Operations Team (SOT) detectives, with the assistance of Emergency Service Section officers and Fifth Precinct Gang Unit officers, netted a   Glock semiautomatic handgun, a Taurus semiautomatic handgun, a Ruger pistol, a Smith & Wesson pistol, four assault rifles, six shotguns, two rifles and five sets of brass knuckles, and a switchblade. Two of the pistols were previously reported stolen.

Musumeci was identified as a maintenance worker for the Commack school district.

Suffolk Police said Musumeci was be held overnight at the Fifth Precinct, and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday.
