Food, masks and money were donated Wednesday to the Suffolk Police Second Precinct to help the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic.

Foundation and his wife, Carolyn, brought 500 face masks, 100 meals from NY Panini and a monetary donation of $1,000 dedicated on behalf of Suffolk County District Attorney Tim Sini. This donation will help feed over 300 people in the Town of Huntington.
A donation was also made to Huntington’s Project H.O.P.E. for $1,000, to help feed the hungry in the Huntington Station area.
Among those attending the donation were Sini, Second Precinct commander Inspector William Scrima, the Rev. Racos of St. Elizabeth Church, Dan Diviney of Project Hope, Suffolk County 18th District Legis. William “Doc” Spencer, and representatives of the RaCha Thai Restaurant who have donated meals to local food programs.
Businesses Empowered
Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said Thursday that businesses are authorized to bar customers who aren’t wearing face masks.
“I have been working to communicate this message about masks and how effective they are,” Cuomo said. “They are deceptively effective. They are amazingly effective. We’ve made them mandatory in public settings, public transportation, et cetera. When we’re talking about reopening stores and places of business, we’re giving the store owners the right to say if you’re not wearing a mask, you can’t come in.”
Entertainers Rosie Perez and Chris Rock joined Cuomo for the reminder that masks are key to reducing the spread of the virus.
