County Sponsoring Job Fair for Food Service Workers

A  job fair Tuesday will focus on positions in the food, beverage and hospitality industries.

The Suffolk County Department of Labor and the Long Island Food Council will host the event at Island Harvest in Melville from 10 am-noon.

“Long Island’s food, beverage, and hospitality industry was hit especially hard during the COVID-19 pandemic, but with the industry on the rebound, there are plenty of opportunities for our residents to become a part of this industry that makes our region so special,” said Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone. “With employers big and small slated to participate, this job fair is the perfect opportunity for residents to learn more about meaningful career opportunities in both Suffolk and Nassau.”

The Suffolk County Department of Labor has partnered with Long Island Food Council, MTRC at Stony Brook, Empire State Development, New York Department of Labor, and the Workforce Development Board Serving Glen Cove, Oyster Bay and North Hempstead for the job fair. The job fair will feature hundreds of job opportunities from Suffolk and Nassau County food, beverage and hospitality companies looking for local talent.foo
