Covid-19 Update: Booster Shot Update, Masks at Nursing Homes

All health care workers previously required to receive a COVID-19 vaccination will have to receive a COVID-19 booster dose within two weeks of becoming eligible, absent a valid medical exemption, Gov. Kathy Hochul said Sunday.

UPDATE: Assemblyman Keith Brown will be handing out test kits Monday morning, 10am-12pm, at his District Office parking lot, behind Copenhagen Bakery  75 Woodbine Avenue, Northport.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that people, including the newly authorized 12-15 year-old age group, who received the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine should receive a booster dose at least fivemonths after their second dose;

As of Saturday, 11,747 New Yorkers are hospitalized with COVID-19. The state’s 7-day percentage positivity average is 21.71%,  up from 21.49% last week. There were 379.43 cases per 100K statewide.

Starting Wednesday, all visitors to nursing homes must wear surgical-type masks and, upon entry, must present a COVID negative test taken within 24 hours of their visit.
