Covid-19 Update: Remote Classes, Some Bus Routes Canceled

Silas Wood Sixth Grade Center will continue its remote-only schedule Thursday and Friday after some new positive coronavirus results were reported Wednesday evening, South Huntington school superintendent Dr. David Bennardo said.

The school was remote Wednesday because of the need to complete contact tracing on two teachers who received posititve tests that were reported Tuesday night.  

In addition, some parents in the Northport school district were scrambling Wednesday night after receiving emails telling them that numerous buses were canceled for Thursday because contact tracing  and possible quarantining of several bus drivers. Some buses were canceled for High School, Bellerose, Fifth, Ocean, Norwood and Northport Middle School.
