Marcantonio Delivers Thousands of Masks

Michael Marcantonio, a candidate for New York’s 12th Assembly District, donated over 60,000 3-ply surgical masks to various organizations in the Town of Huntington last week. Recipients included the Northport Village Fire Department, which received 2,500 masks; Northport Village Police Department, 10,000; Suffolk County Police Department 2nd Precinct,15,000; American Legion Post 694, 2,500; and Family Service League, 13,000. The final and largest donation of the day was to Huntington Hospital, which received 25,000 masks. Suffolk County Legislator and physician Dr. William “Doc” Spencer as well as Dr. Nick Fitterman, executive director of Huntington Hospital, accepted the donation Friday afternoon.

“Healthcare providers have gone above and beyond, and know that PPE is really the key to keeping people safe and we know it makes a difference,” Spencer said. “To have individual citizens like you that are community minded, it really makes a big difference, and as the legislator of this district, and working with Dr. Fitterman, I’m very honored and privileged to be with you and I just want to thank you very much.”
