Deputy Supervisor DelCol Retires

Deputy Supervisor Patricia DelCol retired Tuesday and was praised by Town Board members for her knowledgeability and collegiality.

DelCol is going to work for the architecture and engineering firm H2M in Melville.

“We’re going to miss Pat, we are thankful for her dedication to the Town and we wish her the best in her retirement from 25 years in government service,” Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci said.

DelCol was appointed deputy supervisor in 2019 by then-Supervisor Frank Petrone.  Before that,  she served as director of environmental control and as the director of engineering services.

“She was instrumental in me becoming a councilperson, whether she agrees to it or not,” Town Board member Gene Cook said, to laughter, describing how her helpfulness and knowledge in responding to an issue he was having with the town helped resolve the problem. “She’s a phenomenal person and the town is going to be lost without her because she does such a great job.”

“If you want to see a splendid example of female leadership, look right there,” Town Board member Joan Cergol said.

It is unclear who, if anyone, will replace DelCol at Town Hall.
