Donnelly Honors Outgoing League of Women Voters Leader

Suffolk County Legislator Tom Donnelly recently honored outgoing League of Women Voters of New York First Vice President Judie Gorenstein at her retirement ceremony at the Northport Yacht Club.

Gorenstein, of Melville, served at the league for 15 years and held various positions, becoming president of the Huntington chapter in 2008 until 2017. She was awarded a county proclamation for her participation in engaging voters of all ages.

Since 2010, Gorenstein has been on the state board as Citizen/Education Youth Program Director and in 2015 was elected to First Vice President of the League of Women Voters of New York State and Voter Service Chair.

“Through her dedication, leadership and commitment to honoring the work of our sacred right to vote, Judie Gorenstein is a shining example of someone who selflessly gives back in everything she does,” Donnelly said. “It is a privilege to honor Judie Gorenstein and I wish her the best of luck in her retirement.”
