Donnelly Visits LI Cares, Island Harvest

As the chair of the Legislature’s Education Human Services Committee, Suffolk Legislator Tom Donnelly (D-Huntington Station) has been touring several non-profit agencies that receive Suffolk County funding to provide food and other essentials to help feed the hungry. He recently visited the Hauppauge headquarters of two agencies providing these critical services: Long Island Cares and Island Harvest.

Long Island Cares is the regional food bank for Long Island and currently supports 390 community partners with nearly 7 million pounds of food in addition to operating an array of innovative programs including Baxter’s Pet Pantry, a mobile pantry, homeless outreach, veteran services, and nutrition education. Legislator Donnelly discussed these and other initiatives with LI Cares Executive Director Paule T. Pachter. For more information, go to: https://www.licares.org/
