Driver Hurt in Crash on Service Road in Dix Hills

The Dix Hills Fire Department responded to an early morning motor vehicle accident and fire on the North Service Road west of Commack Road, Sunday about 2:20 a.m. 
Firefighters arrived to find a fully engulfed vehicle that struck a utility pole.

Crews from Rescue Engine 2-8-14 extinguished the fire as EMT’s from ambulance 2-8-5 and the Paramedic responder assisted the driver, who suffered non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to Huntington Hospital by the Dix Hills Rescue Squad.

Units were under the command of Third Assistant Chief Brett Tepe and Captain Scott DiPino.
